iPhone - Battery draining?

I have come to notice that the iPhone 3G has a signifigantly lower amount of battery than its predecessor. This is probably because of the new iPhone utilizing 3G connectivity. Some people have reported extremely short battery life, which could have several causes;

• Battery indicator errer
• Puch mechanism is used to much
  
• Application errors
  
• Hardware defects

If you feel like your iPhone has a very short battery life time, try the following:

Turn off Push The iPhone's Push functionality for Exchange and MobileMe can drain batteries very fast. Go to settings and compare the battery life after turning push off.

Force-quit applications Some times, applications quit unexpectedly and you notice that your battery is draining afterward. Relaunch the application and then force-quit it by holding down the home button until it quits. This should eliminate frozen apps that drain your battery.

Reset iPhone In some cases, resetting the iPhone can resolve signal strength issues. Press and hold the home button and the sleep button at the same time until the Apple logo appears. This indicates that your phone has been restarted.

This procedure can right a faulty battery indicator and eliminate applications that have hung or are otherwise improperly chewing battery.

Reset network settings Go to settings, general, reset, and reset network settings. This will mke your iPhone restart and it will delete any Wi-Fi passwords stored on your phone as well as DNS settings and so on. In some cases it can also resolve signal strength issues.
