Bet on tennis!

Tennis is attracting more and more tipsers because unlike other sports as football, hockey or basketball there is only a 2way  result, the match couldn’t end as draw.  In order to bet on a tennis game you should know some essential things:

1. The player’s recent form
2. The surface of play . Some players like clay more, some players like grass or carpet.
3. Recent injuries – if a player returns from an injury he can’t be in his best shape
4. The player’s results at that tournament in the last couple of years.
5. The last matches played between the two players on that surface and their position in the ATP classification.

The tennis matches are played on 3 major surfaces:

- hard with two grand slam tournaments : Australian Open and US Open
- clay , mostly in Europe with one grand slam tournament – Rolland Garros
- grass , played mostly in Great Britain with Wimbledon, maybe the most important tournament of them all.
 Grass and hard are considered fast surfaces while clay is a slow one. That has a major effect on the player’s game.

Also you must know if he evolves in his own country. Playing in a tournament at home may be a great advantage because of the supporting crowd. Also take a look if the tournament is an important one or not. Some good players don’t give all their best in small tournaments, sparing themselves for the bigger ones.
Most of the tournaments are played “first to win 2 sets” except the grand-slams where in the men’s tournament it is played best of 5 sets – first to 3 sets. In the women tournaments it is always best of 3 – first to win 2 sets.

Be careful…tennis is a hard game to predict. You shouldn’t always bet on a line ( 1 or 2 )…you can bet on under/over number of games, how many sets will be played or on a handicap of games. Under/over and number of sets are a good choice if the matches are tight. Handicap you should bet only when you are sure that a player is much better than his opponent.
